Big news! The next Thrones & Bones Kickstarter has been announced.
Presenting… Fury of the Forsaken.
Fury of the Forsaken is an adventure for 4th level characters using the Tales of the Valiant roleplaying game system (and fully compatible with Dungeons & Dragons’ 5th edition). It is set in the Scandinavian-inspired land of Norrøngard.
The lead writer on this is Richard Pett (Kobold Press, Paizo, Wizards of the Coast). I’ve been a huge fan of Richard’s work for years and always wanted to work with him. Now he finally comes to Norrøngard, to craft an intense, moody, atmospheric tale with a dark mystery at its heart and a dramatic battle at its finish. I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you!
And about that dramatic battle—I’ve been working for over a year now on a mass combat system for Tales of the Valiant, and this adventure will include a first glimpse at that. Fury of the Forsaken will have a simplified system for running army units, not as a mini game, but inside the context of 5e/ToV gaming. PCs will be able to seamlessly integrate their actions and the actions of units under their command into combat turns. I’m thrilled for you to be able get your hands on it and try it out.
And if you’ll forgive me, I can’t resist saying, “But wait! There’s more!”
Because this Kickstarter will also see the three previous Tales of the Valiant offerings—Banner of the Bull, Keeper of the Drowned, and Troll of the Town, written respectively by Yours Truly, Brian Suskind, and Kelly Pawlik—collected in one big hardcover volume with expanded setting material. The Bense Trilogy will take characters from 1st to 4th level, preparing them to step right into Fury of the Forsaken as the dramatic culmination of a Tier 1 campaign.
So yes, this is a 2 Book Kickstarter. And it doesn’t end there. Some of the stretch goals planned may actually add more hardcovers to that count. I told you that Fury of the Forsaken is a big project. And with your help, it can get even bigger.
So please check it out and grant us your support by signing up now to be notified when we go live (currently planned for early next year).
And thank you for being here. Your help and support is why Lazy Wolf Studios has gotten this far already! And I appreciate that immensely.
